projectOUTREACH team membership is open to middle and high school aged youth. It is recommended that any participating 5th grade middle school students be placed on teams of mixed ages.

Teams consist of 4 to 10 members and work with the assistance of a Team Advisor under the sponsorship of a community organization. Team Advisors must be adults age 18 or older.

All team members are to maintain an active role in their project planning and be involved in related community/school activities.

Teams of fewer than 10 members may add additional members (up to a total of 10) during the project. Team members who leave a team during the projectOUTREACH season may be replaced as long as a majority of the team members remain the same throughout the projectOUTREACH season.
